General Manager Sommer Peterson is an experienced restaurateur and is thrilled to bring her skills back to her hometown of Fair Oaks. Sommer spent over two decades living and working in San Francisco where she opened a number of successful establishments including Mission Bowling Club, a boutique bowling alley serving award-winning food and extraordinary specialty cocktails, and Mini Bar, an art themed cocktail bar and neighborhood hangout.

Quality of life ultimately brought Sommer and her family back to the Sacramento area. Fate intervened when Sommer found herself in the Fair Oaks Village looking at a vacant piece of commercial real estate in need of some TLC. The idea for a vibrant, social gathering place sparked in her mind, and, within a few months, she was putting plans in place to open Shangri-la.
